NHS Bursary

Hi, I am new here..
I am just looking for some advice as I am starting University in September (next month)
I ain't applied for the NHS Bursary yet and tbh its stressing me out.
I have accidentally applied for the NHS Bursary in England but I need the one for wales... arghh!!
Anyhow now I have registered an account with NHS Bursary England I cannot register an account for the one I actually need in Wales. It keeps saying my national insurance number is in use and wont let me register...can anyone help please?

You need to contact the NHSBSA on Monday and ask them to cancel your application:

Thank you. I havent been able to apply as I only realized when it came to choosing universities and they were all in England. I have registered the account with NHS Bursary England though and when I now try to register for NHS Bursary Wales - it keeps saying my national insurance number is in use and wont let me proceed to register. Also if I do manage to get NHS England to cancel there end - am I too late to apply for a bursary if my uni start date is next month?

Are you applying for medicine/dentistry, or a healthcare course? Can you clarify where you normally live (England or Wales), and where you are going to study?

I live in Wales and I am going to study in Wales. I am going into adult nursing

Given the short timescale, I'd recommend that you also call the NHS Wales student award service tomorrow. They might be able to override the problem you are having with your NI number.

Thank you for that. I will give them both a call tomorrow.

Thank you for your help. I have now applied for the nhs bursary Wales - it turns out it was because I was already on the system with my college email address and I had been trying to use my own personal email 🙈

In not sure if you could help with something else tho - as I applied and given evidence it stated I could get the bursary £3000+ the tuition fee and £1000 grant... how do I know if i am also eligible for a reduced maintenance loan?

I'm glad that you've got that sorted. You'll be pleased to know that the reduced maintenance loan was scrapped this year (for Welsh residents), and you can now apply to SFW for the maximum loan of £11,150. It is not income assessed but it will be reduced if you live at your parental home while studying. The Cardiff Uni website explains it well:
