I am quitting drinking beer

Hi, guys I have decided to quit drinking beer as I am just starting to hate alcohol i know it will be tough quitting due to social situations but I just hate it now. hate the feeling of being hungover and sick and just want to feel refreshed in the morning if you guys have quit alcohol before how did impact your friends who want to have a few beers with you as i just think i need it as it is more of an escapism.

I have always been a social drinker, so it was easy to not drink for long periods of time especially if you don't go out. I would refrain from drinking unless it's a special occasion, but even then I would keep it to a minimal.

If I drink as a personal choice, I would usually use the drink to pair with the food - it's about savouring the experience and not getting flat faced drunk. Even then, it's 1 or 2 glasses at most.

In terms of escapism: the problem(s) is/are still there when you sober back up. In fact, the numbing effect isn't all that effective. What usually works better is tackling the problem(s) head on; if people need help, it's often easier to get or offer help than to keep avoiding the issues (won't work for all problems though).
