Tech degree Apprenticeship

Hello,

I'm looking to do a degree apprenticeship in Tech specifically, and I'm not sure of what work experience opportunities I should be looking at to help me get accepted to companies or even what will separate me from other candidates in my application. If anyone who has started an apprentice or knows how I can increase my chances of getting accepted could help me out I will appreciate it.

Thanks

Hi,

I've just accepted an offer for a software engineering degree apprenticeship here's the work experience I did:

A week at an accounting firm working with the data science team - this was through someone I know but most big companies have a data science team so worth asking around!

Two weeks at STFC Harwell on their work experience program that I applied for

At my interviews it seemed that they valued customer facing work experience that shows you will be able to interpret briefs successfully, and any experiences where you have had to consider your audience carefully and sort of 'translate' technical language into an engaging presentation/talk (could be EPQ or coursework related). I think they are looking for someone who will effectively work well in a team over anything else

Good luck!!

Hi, I've got some Notion document resources to help with what you are looking for (for context, last year I helped a bunch of people get accepted into tech degree apprenticeships).

First, here's a list of work experience opportunities that are available right now, including in the technology sector - https://sumptuous-book-021.notion.site/Best-work-experience-for-DEGREE-APPRENTICESHIP-APPLICATIONS-928aea8fa48441df9755d76afef8e470?pvs=4

Secondly, here's a full guide on the things you can do to separate yourself from other candidates when applying to a tech degree apprenticeship - https://sumptuous-book-021.notion.site/How-I-got-a-DTS-degree-apprenticeship-offer-DTS-Full-Guide-4f5ef82bcf714820b918538d0da81fc6

Hope that helps and good luck with your applications

Thank you for the links. I actually found your Youtube channel earlier today and it's helped me a lot so far especially with my cv. Keep up the good work.
