Hey!

If you're attending one of our 2024 Accelerate Days or Clearing Open Days, you can claim free bus travel in the West Midlands, free national coach travel or free parking at our campuses. You can find out more about that and other finance incentives we have here: https://bit.ly/3AckGj7

If you want to know about discounted travel as a student, then we don't offer anything as a university but there are some discounts you can get as a student on train, bus etc. Let me know which form of travel you'd be taking and I can let you know what student discounts are available!

Hope that helps

Hi Student Nurse20,

I currently commute to the university by train, and I discovered that the best value for transport is registering for a Swift card, which allows you to travel easily around the West Midlands either by train, bus or tram. Once you visit the website, you'll find several passes, and you can decide on which one best suits you; there are discounts available for university students by clicking ‘Student 18+’. Please note that the discount is through the Swift company and not the university, but you will need to prove your status as a university student. I find having a swift card useful as a healthcare student needing to travel to placement sites. Additionally, as a healthcare student, you have the opportunity to get reimbursed for your travel expenses to placement.

Hope that helps.
