3 Things I Enjoyed about Politics & International Relations

As everyone is getting ready for results day, Politics & International Relations may be something you're considering studying. I studied Politics and International Relations at Liverpool Hope from 2019-2023 and enjoyed it so much that I went on to do an MA in it, so I thought I would share a few of the things I liked about my course!

1. After taking politics as an A-level, my interest in the subject developed, and one of the key things that attracted me to this specific course was the opportunity to learn about both British and international politics. This flexibility has allowed me to explore and refine the aspects of politics I am really interested in.

2. The small group nature of seminars makes the nature of studying politics all the more interesting because it allows you the opportunity to voice your opinion, sometimes often surrounding contentious topics were you need to argue for or against a viewpoint.

3. In terms of topics studied I would have to say my favourite would be Security, Peace & Conflict as this allowed me to look at a range of various topics such as climate change, global conflicts and humanitarian intervention, it allowed me to develop my knowledge of the world around.

It is always worth bearing in mind that Politics degrees from one university to another do vary as some universities are more module-based.
