Hi there,

Having looked at the course information page, it is a little bit difficult to advise as it seems that you only study 6 modules throughout the duration of the programme.

I would recommend Criminology by Tim Newburn, currently in its 3rd edition. It is generally a standard text on many Undergraduate Criminology programmes. It covers a lot of ground in terms of themes and concepts and it should be able to direct any further reading.

You might want to wait until you enrol to have access to your reading lists, or request these from the faculty.

Well looking at the course page on The Open University website, each year only has two modules. In your first year, you study Introduction to Criminology and Introducing the Social Sciences.

As part of Introduction to Criminology, you study criminal justice institutions and so I would recommend Criminal Justice, 4th Edition, by Peter Joyce and Wendy Laverick.
