Pre Clearing Advice

Hello,

Just a little bit of advice for anyone feeling apprehensive or confused ahead of results day - universities have really helpful and supportive teams in place to talk to potential students about the clearing process in detail.

Even if you don’t feel completely comfort chatting over the phone, I’d recommend contacting your chosen university by email to ask all the questions you have in advance!

This will help you prepare and also put your mind at ease.

Wishing everyone the very best for the 15th.

Thanks @Liverpool Hope Student Ambassador ,

Keep going folks. Its a tense and anxious waiting game, but no matter what happens something positive will come out of this journey whether you get the results you are expecting or not

Top tips for results day:

1.

Have your mobile and the contact details (phone and email) of your firm, insurance and any other unis you may want to consider for clearing, as a contingency plan. Here is a page where you can find all of the clearing pages with the details of all UK universities: here!

2.

Have a family member or friend with you. If you get the results you want, it is a lovely moment to be able to share with them; and if things don't go to plan and you begin to feel worried, someone else may be able to help you to think rationally about your next steps and help you figure out what to do.

3.

Take good care of yourselves in the days leading up to results day. You have done the hard work and there is nothing you can do now to influence the outcome. You can't control what will happen on results day, but you can control how you react to it. Try not to get yourselves down rabbit holes of trying to predict what will happen. For reference, here's a nice page with facts about how unis typically react on results day. Have a back up plan, get into a positive, calm mindset and think about other things: take a walk, go to town, see friends, bake brownies, write in a journal. Take time for yourselves.

Hope this helps, best of luck for the 15th - your firms are all there in the background cheering you on
