Pilates and other workouts

Hi all just been doing some research as I want to lose weight and maintain a healthier life style. I used to be healthy before lockdown but I also have a baking business so I had to bake a lot and I gained weight because of that. I’m trying to lose that weight and become healthier, I’ve tried different workout ideas like running , Zumba, weights etc but I’m not consistent enough. I’m thinking about Pilates but does anyone have and tips on how I can lose weight? Thanks x

yeah Pilates is good. You could try swimming and walking too. Unfortunately, if you aren't going to be consistent - then no workout will work. Like gaining weight, losing weight also takes time. So don't expect for a month to go by and have expectations for you to be at your dream weight.

1.

Ditch processed food - like takeaways, chocolate, sweets. Also stuff like coke or pepsi. Cut out alcohol.

2.

Constantly drink water or drinks like lemon water, green tea etc.

3.

Increase protein intake - it reduces appetite and can boost metabolism.

4.

Don't eat late at night - "eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, and dinner like a pauper".

5.

Calorie deficit - if you are eating more than what you burn, then it will be much harder for you to lose the weight.

Consistency is key

What do you mean by not consistent enough? Are you to busy/tired to keep a fitness schedule? Do you not enjoy the exercises you've chosen?

From above:

You don't have to cut out everything like this, just have it in moderation. If you sort out the rest of your lifestyle, there's nothing wrong with the odd takeaway, drink or biscuit. Though why not make fakeaways or your own healthy treats?

Constantly drink water or drinks like lemon water, green tea etc.
Constant lemon water isn't good for your teeth!

I agree with this. You can have the odd "bad food" as long the majority of your diet consists of good stuff. It's not realistic to cut everything out anyway. That ignores the human element to this, even if from a purely scientific standpoint cutting out everything bad is optimal.

There's no evidence to suggest lemon water or any kind of tea has any significant effect on weight loss. People suggesting these things are perpetuating myths aimed at people who want quick fixes, where the only thing that will make you lose body fat is a consistent calorie deficit for an extended time. Drinking primarily water instead of calorific soft drinks or alcohol is an easy way to contribute to that.

Eating late at night doesn't matter. Meal timing makes practically no difference, as long as the timing doesn't have an indirect effect of making you consume more food, or move less.
Hi Pilates is really good you can do it at home aswell I like watching bloglaties and chole ting they do workouts on YouTube as for healthy eating I would say to increase the veg and protein and dry to cut out some carbs like bread and such but seeds and other carbs are good becase you need some obviously but it’s carbs what do it for me and sugar 😂 but Pilates is really good I did it before and lost weight but also gained muscle it really does work especially for women as I’m sure we’ve tried everything lol but I have been wanting to get for again and more consistent with it but I think haveing a goal can keep you motivated like getting that dress, being healthy , running such such km . In my case I want to get for the sports I’m doing currently lol running straight for 1:30 with a hockey stick I’d no joke 🤣 hoped this helped good luck with the healthy journey in becomeing fit and the It girl 👍💪❤️

Busy schedule, tired but also lack of motivation. I feel like I do have a relatively healthy lifestyle I don’t drink fizzy drinks or alcohol. Don’t have takeaways that often and I don’t eat out that much either. But I must admit- I have a massive sweet tooth and also struggling to control that. Thank your for your comments though, really helpful.
