Any tips for tutoring child at home for their 11+ test?

Hi, today I bought cgp practice books for 11+.
I’m gonna try and tutor my little brother for it and I just need some tips on how to actually structure the teaching and stuff. Rather than just giving him the books and saying here get on with it. I know things like obviously saying things to look out for for example with non verbal reasoning telling him about patterns to look for and what to potentially identify.

Any tips and help would be greatly appreciated!!!!
It depends on how he learns, and that's something you'll come to find out over time, but I'd suggest that you start by seeing what different topics are available and providing the book but sitting next to him. Explain how to do a few things, let him try a few on his own and provide support where needed. Just trust yourself and your knowledge- often once you get started you'll get into a flow of what kind of things he's more likely to need help with and what helps engage him.

Thank you so much ☺️
What’s the most effective way? Just asking in case I do this too.
How do you help them without feeding them the answer too much? Especially for non verbal reasoning.
