Resident Coordinator Pay

So I'm living in student dorms and applying to be a resident coordinator here. They say the pay is £15 per shift due to some law somewhere, but no amount of searching shows this. Does anyone know if that's correct or should I be going off on them for this?

Edit: This post has been solved, my employer just can't explain things properly.

Per shift or per hour? The national minimum wage is listed here:
