EPQ artefact duel accreditation?

I've just started my summer research for my EPQ. I'm planning on designing and building a trebuchet and I was going to use A level physics knowledge to calculate projectile motions and such. Even though that is only a small part of my whole project, would i be disqualified for using A level specification calculations or would I be alright only if I included more advanced stuff I don't understand at the moment?

You shouldn't start before you understand the requirements.

Why can't ypu e-mail teachers now? I've had several during the holidays.

How can you research if the EPQ hasn't been explained?
