Are right wing people more humourless and misanthropic?

As compared to people on the left.

As compared to people on the left.

Compared to people on the left I would say that those on the right are generally capable of more humour. I find that people on the left are easily offended and I think that humour is more related to whether your an optimistic person/light hearted enough.

Plenty of us on the right are misanthropic but critically, once you accept that, you can be enormously optimistic at the same time.

I believe that humans are self interest, violent, territorial, deceitful and on an interstellar prospective, I suspect we will be quite xenophobic. In short, I believe that we are very predatory.

But I also believe that believe that self interest and the instinct to dominate our surroundings leads us to be very innovative and creative even if the end goal is in the service of war.

As I'm quite comfortable with the fact that I'm a predator and as self interested as everybody else, I'm able to pretty laid back and happy. Being able to be pretty light hearted means I enjoy humour and don't take things too seriously.

While some may argue that the left are optimistic and light hearted, this is often not actually the case. Plenty in the left believe they are oppressed and victims and seek change precisely because they have a negative view.

Those on the left tend to be offended by literally anything. I’d argue that those on the right have more humour which would anger those on the left.

From what I’ve seen, the leftists dislike the sort of humour used by those on the right unless it involves dissing the patriarchy, straight people, or white men.
Well, there aren't many right wing comics are there... that's telling.

Who have we got in the UK, Geoff Norcott, Andrew Lawrence, Leo Kearse I can't think of anyone else.

is that because there are less right wing comics or because modern media censors people for making jokes that would be considered right wing.

I mean, right-wing comics are people like Roy Chubby Brown and Jim Davidson. It's true that material wouldn't wash today, but that shouldn't stop right-wing comedians unless that's all they find funny.

Most right-wing people I know find humour in laughing at other people's misfortunes and laughing at people being "Othered" from them. So that doesn't give you a whole lot to work with.
