OPINIONS Which Dental Schools shall I apply to?

Hi there
I’m Y13 undergraduate applying to dent this october, I already know I’m applying to Bristol Cardiff and Plymouth (I have a Bristol guaranteed interview because I did a summer school and they said they don’t care about my ucat score).
I just need help deciding on my last one!!

My stats:
A levels: A*A*A (possibly a third A* if I can move it up)
UCAT: 2760 B2
GCSEs: 999999888 and a Distinction star
I’ve done:
A variety of dental clinical WEX (3 weeks total)
Care home volunteering
Other bits

I know my UCAT score isn’t awful but it’s obviously not 3500 hahaa so where should I apply strategically ??
Thanks!!
If you're widening participation you can apply to kings or qmul bc they assess holistically. I'm sure you can apply to the majority dental schools. I'm also guessing this 4th option won't be your firm or insurance choice so maybe it isnt your priority but find a 4th choice you're comfortable with (teaching style/interview style/opportunities offered ect.) . Birmingham have a cut off so check their website

Manchester apparently have high ucat cut off but I know someone with 2540 ucat that did an interview there a few years ago.

Leeds just changed to ucat from being bmat. I'm not sure but I think Newcastle is also high ucat. So those are my ones to be mindful of.

What I recommend is to type into Google: whatdotheyknow.com "insert uni name' ucat score

You'll find ppl have asked the dental schools for freedom of information requests on previous dentistry applicants entry scores n a levels ect. Try find the most recent years (a reply with 2020 data is less relevant to you than 2023 data).

Hope that helps and good luck with your application

Yeah you’re right, this fourth option is mostly about maximising my chances of getting at least one offer somewhere😊

Thank you - that’s really helpful!!
