Ucat not improving

Hi ive just decided to redo year 12 in september to switch subjects to bio, chem, maths. In hope of getting into dentistry or medicine. I am doing my ucat next year but started revising 6 weeks ago.
im concerned because ive done in total 7000 questions and 4 mocks but dont feel like my score is improving. i know im doing something wrong as there is no way people do like 3 hours a day and do so well and im messing up this bad so im convinced im incorrectly doing something.
My first mock i got 2390 band 3
my second mock i got 2450 band 1
my 3rd mock i got 2390 band 2
and my 4th was 2470 band 2.

Im really upset because i know that ive spent many hours revising and dont understand why im not improving. can someone help please i feel like just to forget even doing the ucat.
Please advise

UCAT is a horrible exam sometimes i think it is just luck but when my son done it he was very strong in non verbal but weak in VR. You got plenty of time to improve.

How do you improve though I don't think my technique of revision is right. I'm doing plenty of questions but not seeing my scores rise

Hi, I got 2740 not the best score but the way I improved was by doing a set of questions e.g. AR and not timing myself. After I would note down any patterns that took me a long time to figure out or missed on a notepad to practice ar again, slowly this allowed me to improve at AR. I did this with the other sections, for the maths portion I would practice with the calc to ensure I could type quickly.

Mainly I just attempted new question with my notes next to me so I could get better at identifying patterns.

Theres no point practicing the UCAT if your not gonna sit it in 2024. It isn't an exam of which you learn its content, you just work on how u answer and which ones you decide to skip, focus closer on the time

Oh right I had it in my head I could do like 1 hour a day so I'm prepared when the time comes.

Is that not a good idea ?

To be honest, you are quite likely to burn out that way, but everyone is different, so do what works for you! x

To be honest I don't know about burning out what I mainly care about is the technique of routine to improving the ucat score. If I can find what your meant to do because all I'm doing is a load of questions and it's not working.

Please help

Well a lot of the videos I have watched have shown that you can only improve so much, so I suppose it isnt the best idea to devote 100+ hours to the UCAT, when even the highest scorer ever only did about 50 hours max, and you can get that done in a months time with two hours a day. BUT I am of course the same age as you and sitting my UCAT in 20 days, so I am not the bible in this advice, just passing on what I know.

when my son done his ucat there were many others there that paid to take the test for practise. It's not a bad idea, only found out when my son told me as he got chatting to few students there.

To be honest I don't think it's that it's my max score what I'm on now. I think it's because before all I was doing was just doing questions without even checking what I was doing wrong. I was mindlessly doing questions without checking where my mistakes were
From now I'm gonna actually do less questions but check and improve on what I'm doing wrong

Thanks for the help
