Have you used henna for hair?

If so, instead of the orange colour, is it possible to get a nice rich red shade from it?

not as far as I’ve seen, even with dark hair it doesn’t really give the kind of shade I think you’re describing and on any hair other than very dark brown or black it will have orangey tones. It isn’t permanent though so, get a nice quality natural one and maybe do a small patch test. Get a small section of your hair, preferably one of the “inner” sections so it gets hidden if it turns out not so great, and see how it looks. Also do a smaller patch test on skin maybe to ensure you’re not allergic if you haven’t used it before : )
