How do I achieve DMM in my Btech?

I've just finished my first year of college and I'm really confused about the grading and weightings of each unit on my course. I am currently taking an extended diploma in health and social care. Does anyone know what grades i would need to achieve (hopefully) a DMM? thanks

The way BTECs are graded is very confusing, I agree. Unfortunately, there is no simple answer to your question.

You're awarded points for every unit you complete. The points depend on the size of the unit (measured in guided learning hours, or GLH) and the grade you achieve in that unit. If the unit is an external one (i.e. assessed by exams) then the points are also impacted by the mark you achieve.

They then sum the points across your units to obtain your total points, and map that to an overall grade. For DMM you need 176 points.

If you look in the specification for your BTEC, you'll find a table on page 273 showing how many points you need for each overall grade.

On the page before you'll find tables which show you how many points you get per module, depending on the size of the module (in GLH) and the grade. (You can lookup the size of each module on pages 5 and 6, and elsewhere.)

If you need help working-out whether or not you're on track for a DMM, then just list out the units you've done and the grade you got for each. If you know the mark you achieved in each exam, or the points you got for each exam, then even better.
