Only buy a wristband if you're planning on going to a good number of the paid-for events on campus - at Bath these were only the concerts in the evenings. There will be a ton more events by societies, clubs and your course which are free, so you won't miss out if you don't have a wristband. If you only plan on going to a handful of paid events it might be better value to pay on the door.

Bring brownies. And put them on your accommodation's kitchen surface to share with your new flatmates. Its a great ice breaker and convo starter!

Don't put too much pressure on yourself. You're in a brand new place and a totally new environment. Give yourself time to find your way around, explore the campus, the town, meet a few of your lecturers. Its always good to try to connect with people, and I think you'll find it easier than expected as you're all in the same boat! But there will be tons of opportunities post freshers and throughout your degree to meet friends. I only met my real friends when we got into doing group project work in our second year.
I hope that helps, best of luck and have fun in freshers week!
