dreading results day- not coping

I think I have missed my grade requirement for my university choice. I have no hope of getting into it and I am feeling very down about this and constantly beating myself up over it. I worked extremely hard for it but I underperformed in the tests, what is worse is that I know I could have done so much better because I did know the stuff. It is my dream university and I really cant stand myself at all. I dont know what I will do if I dont get in.
Don’t panic, you haven’t gotten the results yet! You might have done better than you thought… it might just be the exams are harder this year and the grade boundaries might be lower, you don’t know yet, so don’t beat yourself up.

Worst case scenario you don’t get the grades to get into your dream uni, there are still a lot of options, such a taking a gap year or going through clearing to get into another uni. You could also apply for a foundation course in your dream uni

Don’t lose hope yet!! Wishing you the best of luck!

I've never experienced anything worse than this or cared about anything more...

That sounds stressful and the waiting for results day can often be the worst part. You're not alone in worrying how you performed in your tests. Results day and the wait for them can be challenging especially if you feel you did not do as well as you could have. I relate to this so much as this is how I felt collecting my results.

On Student Space we have a couple of resources which might help you right now:

If it does not work out it may feel like the end of the world right now, but it will all work out in the end.

Good luck - we will be thinking of you - Grace 🧡
