My English coursework: compare two texts

Looking for a text with similar themes as The Virgin Suicides i.e male gaze, gender roles, sexuality, gossip, scandal, obsession - maybe perception and memory

I know that self-harm and mental distress are big themes but comparing with texts like The Bell Jar would be too much for me. I know Virginia Woolf is good for perception but texts like Mrs Dalloway and Into the Lighthouse are too complex for me to analyse by myself.
