I have studied BTEC Level 2 and Level 3 Health and Social Care, I have GCSE English and Functional Skills in English and Maths. I am still awaiting my final results for Level 3 BTEC in Health and Social Care and GCSE Maths.
I have applied Foundation Degree in Nursing Associate (2 year course) at a university however, I wanted to be a Physician Associate but I do not have the right grades for it which is why I chose a Foundation Degree in Nursing Associate. Upon my research, I found out that I can study Nursing Associate for 2 years and can be trained to work as a Nursing Associate or Registered Nurse - the university to which I have applied for this has also confirmed it. Still, I was advised instead to work as a Nursing Associate after finishing the 2-year degree.
Moreover, after finding out that I was not eligible for a Student Loan from our solicitor, I felt very upset as I started my application in April 2024 and submitted the evidence they asked me for, they never informed me that I was not eligible for it because of my visa (I do not have settled status, pre-settled status or Indefinite Leave to Remain) and I will be considered as a foreign student. At the moment, I have a Philippine Passport and BRP (Leave to Remain) and am still dependent on my mom who has a UK passport. I was advised by our solicitor to at least take a 6 months gap from university as I will be applying for ILR in October this year. Once, I have my ILR then I can only apply for student loans and go to university.
Also, I am currently working in hospitality however, I've been applying for a part-time or full-time job in health care or NHS but no response at all. I want to work in health-related jobs so that it will shape my skills and gain more experience. I have volunteered in cloth banks and worked in nurseries but even though I have gained ideas and skills, I have thought that they may not be suitable or enough for what I want to pursue.
So, for those who have any idea or advice on how to get a health-related job, please do let me know it would be much appreciated.
