Y11- economics at oxbridge?

Going into y11 this year, I want to go to Oxbridge for economics/PPE/physics . What competitions/ summer schools are available to me in the upcoming year?
May be worth noting that unless explicitly run by the respective university, in which case they're usually free, pretty much all the summer schools offered are run privately with no affiliation to the university and confer little advantage to applying.

Yeah, if not at a summer school, I’d like to find other ways to expand my knowledge and other things I can start doing now to strengthen my application. What do you reccomend?

I’d also appreciate non-fic book recs

A good way is to get involved is essay writing competitions, e.g. from the royal economics society or the marshall society which is sponsored by Cambridge itself. If you can progress far into these competitions e.g. your entry being shortlisted, its a great way of showing your interest in the subject.

If your going into year 11, main thing right now is to secure a good set of gcses - as many 9s and 8s as possible.

You should look into the Fitzwilliam Essay Competition.
