Mahr and Bride Price

I am a Christian 23F, getting married to a Muslim 25M. I am Black African, and he’s Afghan. I understand Mahr is done in Islam, however, in my culture we also have a dowry system often called “the bride price” where the groom gives a list of items and money to my paternal side. Is this permissible in Islam? That would be like having two dowry’s, but it is very much encouraged in my culture or else there is a superstition I won’t have a good marriage. So can Mahr and another dowry of one’s culture be performed alongside Mahr?

Hi, the mahr Is given to the woman, it’s her right, she’s the one that receives it in Islam
I’m not sure about the last question, perhaps you could ask a scholar or a student of knowledge for correct advice inshaAllah 🌸
