Name change with UCAS

My name has been legally changed from the name that I did my A-levels under. I know how to update my name with UCAS but I don't know if it would cause any issues? Should I wait until I've got my results or would changing it now make it easier?

Hi,

UCAS will be very busy on results day. I would definitely recommend that you contact them before results day, as it will make the day a lot less stressful, in case any issues do arise.

I would recommend that you don’t bother correcting your name on UCAS. Instead use your documentation to enrol with your new name at your university. And maybe updating UCAS (they have a form to correct your name) in a week or two.

UCAS involvement right now is as a middleman and once you’re placed at a university their involvement is over. The risk of problems with results matching is pretty high.

If you do this then you MUST also change your name with SFE asap.
