I want to pursue fine arts for both my bachelors and masters at uni, so wdyt??? how is eng lit in a levels?

Hi, I took english lit and art for a-levels. I think English lit is extremely helpful when it comes to annotating, context, and coursework in art (you will have to write 3000 word essay for both). However, if you’re worried about grades, it can be difficult to get an A*/A in English lit unless you have a 7+ in GCSE.
A solid essay-based subject is always useful - especially as you may change you mind about a Uni subject mid-A levels. This would leave many different degree options still open to you - all sorts of Arts/Humanities and Social Science subjects.

I did English lit (AQA) and did find it very difficult, but it is rewarding! It is a facilitating subject so would be respected by russell groups, and defo helped my analysis a lot. It is hard but if you put in the work and gradually make resources you’ll be fine! it’s really helped my critical thinking, being able to find patterns, analyse etc. this would probably help a lot if you did art and design (I did art GCSE and remember a lot of the written annotation part)

English lit, art, classical civilisations, and EPQ. I’m taking classics at uni.
