We used to have a 2003 model ford focus that was 16 years old but that was trashed when ULEZ came just out to where I am. If I lived 200 metres another way, we could’ve kept it but ULEZ is too pricy. I learnt the basics of driving from that but stopped when some old guy complained after staring at me and threatening to call the police. Now no car…

I liked the old Ford Focuses. ULEZ is just stupid tbh.

Honestly I don’t think it is. Has it spread to other cities apart from London? It’s kinda helped a traffic issue in London but I think that if ULEZ has come all the way to where I live, it’s a bit excessive. It’s just costly though - now we use UBER when we don’t walk or use public transport and lost our car which is again, wasteful.

Yeah they have charges in places like Brighton and Oxford. But ULEZ is basically getting people to pay for dirtying the air. It's not actually a great solution because public transport isn't good enough to replace all the cars imo. I mean fine in the centre of London but it's definitely excessive when it's within a suburban area.

But newer petrol cars and electric cars are exempt tho. It’s the congestion charge in London on top of ULEZ that’s the big problem for me. Like both means you’re paying 40 pounds just to leave your house.

It's got to be so expensive to use ubers though. That's crazy - how can they charge you twice 🤨?

Not that expensive. We maybe use 100 pounds worth of Ubers a year (excluding airport transfers which are 100 pounds for 2 journeys). I practically walk everywhere. You don’t wanna know my average kilometre count on my phone…

I mean congestion charge disincentives people to use cars in London and ulez disincentives people from using cars in London. Why both? 👿

I love walking. When we last went to London my dad refused to pay for an Oyster so we ended up walking 10+ miles a day for two days. It was ok for a while but we won't be doing it again 😂. My feet hurt for like a week after that 😭.

10+ miles? Rookie numbers. Just joking but I’ve beaten that. I’ll have to do 20 each day for four days in Snowdonia with a 20kg bag. Long days for me…

😭 That's a lot. I wouldn't be able yo do that. I'm good at city or flat countryside walking but Snowdonia is going to be tough 😭. Apparently my brother calculated our total mileage in London on his phone and it was 13 miles both days but I haven't seen the evidence lol.

Ye but I want this to be confirmed here that’s why.

Confirmed!
I just realised that if I win this, I’ll have to explain to my parents that I’ve posted 10000 times on TSR in just over 2 months. Surely I’d be able to defer my win to another user?

Your goal is 10,000? Actual LEGEND!!! I think your parents will be impressed

No, I HAVE posted 10000 times on TSR. And they won’t be impressed cos about 1500 were during my GCSEs.
