No info about vacancies is 'live' - or accurate - until Weds eve / Thurs am.
And Clearing doesnt open until 8am on Thursday.

cool thanks, I thought this but the email they sent out says "Our Clearing vacancies are now live and will be updated again after A-level results are released on Thursday 15 August."- it confused me as to if I could view courses now in advanced of clearing opening.

Clearing lists are very much a moving target, even after results day. You’ll only know if they’re up to date when you call.
I thought I should let you know that in another thread the Durham rep has said that the uni aims to process all results available by AL results day by the 21st. This means that if there’s no decision for you on Hub on results day, you’ll have to decide whether to wait on them, or call and ask to be rejected so you can pursue your insurance place (or clearing if needs be).

thank you! I was planning on just giving them a call anyway in the morning to see if I could get a decision made or look into similar courses they might have in clearing. would the clearing number or admission be better for this? im anxious in the fact im going away for the week later that day and im unsure of the wifi/4G availability.

You’d need to speak to admissions rather than clearing. But to be honest many admissions lines will redirect you to the clearing hotline on results day anyway. Whichever number you call, just make it clear that you’re a current offer holder wanting to discuss your options.

No worries. Best case scenario, both your firm
and insurance have made decisions by results day in which case you’ll know where you stand.

Okay, deep breaths, do you have some water with you :hugs:

It's been a long wait for you hasn't it? :frown:

Does your UCAS Hub currently show you placed with KCL?
Have you put an accommodation application in for KCL?

Remind me - which course do you want to study?
ancient history! place at KCL was confirmed however ive released myself into clearing as after (LOTS) of consideration ive decided its probably not the place for me. Currently fingers crossed my grade is appealed but after my holiday (which is now much needed lol) im going to prepare myself for a gap year. its been a long and tough year but im getting into a place where I am confident to take a break and apply next year with adv higher AAB or AAA which I am slowly appreciating for the good grades they are  thank you again for all your help!! will most likely be seeing me on here in the future

They are excellent grades and I'm glad you're coming around to knowing that

Are you sure you want to do a gap year?
There are ancient history courses available in Clearing for you to start this September
UCAS are showing 36 unis with ancient history vacancies

Including Cardiff, Manchester, Leicester, Liverpool, Glasgow

thank you so much for looking and helping but to eb honest these aren't unis ive considered before and I don't want to do anything in a rush now, its been a very long and difficult year for me and I think this has turned into an opportunity to have a bit of a break. I was very against doing a gap year (and still am slightly) so it's a big decision for me to do this but I think that just shows how it is the right one for me.

Okay, I was worried that you were jumping into a gap year but I think you want time to settle, heal and consider your options more fully and I do think this is wise. I just wanted to present you with those options so you were making an informed choice. :yep:

Best of luck and if you want to ask us more questions in the future, we are always here
