study help

Hello,

I have been hearing from a lot of past/2nd year IB candidates to advise students to 'previse' or study the material about-to-be-learnt beforehand, but I don't know how to do so.

I have tried it during IGCSE, but all I ended up doing was taking notes that were too detailed, thus wasting a lot of time for very little effort (literally not even 1/4 of the material was prevised).

Does anyone know how I can effectively previse? If so, this is greatly appreciated

Hi, it depends on the subjects you're taking. I did history and found it really useful to read the necessary chapter of the textbook before the lesson (same works for literature). It's more complicated with math and the sciences. Videos by Dr Markham have literally saved my life in ESS, I think there are similar channels for chemistry and physics. I didn't write anything down, just made myself familiar with the topic to know what the teacher is talking about
