Going to uni and clearing

Hi,
I'm currently going into Year 13, but I want to go to uni in 2027 not 2025 because I want to get a job as a teaching assistant before I go to uni to become a teacher. As I would've already gotten my results for the 2027 intake, how would I apply through UCAS, would I apply by the 31 Jan deadline or because I would've already gotten my results would I apply when Clearing opens to start in September 2027.
Thanks

You can either apply during September 2025, get the offer and and ask them to defer OR apply in September 2026 with no deferral needed.

I would say do it in September 2025 and ask them to defer, as nobody knows the future...

Hi,

You can apply through either.

Applying through the main UCAS cycle, would give you more choices. As places on teaching courses, tend to fill up quite fast. For example both primary education courses at YSJ, are full and not accepting students through clearing this year.

At YSJ, you would be asked to attend an interview, and would be made a conditional offer, as you would be required to have a DBS check. Once this is back and if its clear of any criminal offences, it would be changed to unconditional.
