Clearing Q&A

Hi everyone! :hello:

Results day is quickly approaching and as it gets closer, I’ve noticed more discussions-and confusion about clearing

We at De Montfort University are hoping that this discussion page can serve as a Clearing Q&A forum, where you can post your questions  and a representative, like myself, will provide answers.

By centralising your questions here, we aim to present all the information in a clear and concise manner, making it easier for others with similar questions to find answers. To kick things off, and provide an example:
–––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––
Question: I am not available to call or email the university personally. Can a friend or relative do this on my behalf?

Answer: Due to data protection laws, we cannot share general information with someone other than you, the applicant. The exception is if you have a nominated person listed on your UCAS application; they can contact us on your behalf. If you anticipate needing to inquire about a Clearing place, we strongly advise you to be available for this.

Feel free to post your questions remember, we’re all here to help

Hey there 🤗

My name is Julia and I am a third-year Psychology student at DMU. I am returning to Leicester after a year-long student exchange in Spain - gorgeous opportunity offered by DMUGlobal Team.

I will be more than happy to support you through this (hopefully not) chaotic time with others and I hope to clarify any doubts you might have 🤔 You can also chat with me privately through The Ambassador Platform.

All the best for you! 🫶🏼

Hye… I will start audiology course this year in dmu.. If anyone could just briefly explain me how the timetable would look like as I will be travelling every day from Birmingham to licester. So in terms of that is it easy to do everyday also as I will be having placements does dmu send students anywhere close to Birmingham hospitals or clinics. As well as is there any financial support uni offers for the student for travelling to placement as this course isn’t support by nhs funds. If anyone could just briefly explain me that would be helpful thanks.

Hiya!

First-year undergraduate students should have received their timetables by Tuesday, September 10th provided that your online registration was completed at least three working days before the 10th. On our course page for audiology, a typical week can vary depending on the year, but you can expect up to 15 contact hours per week on average.

From a quick look online, the train journey is typically about an hour, which seems manageable, but this does depend on your personal preference plus you could always see how you get on in first year with commuting. Placements are generally located across the country as this allows you to explore various roles and workplaces while developing a professional opinion of different environments.

Regarding your query about funding for travel expenses, I recommend contacting your faculty directly, as they can provide the most accurate and detailed information.

You can reach them at

Telephone: 0116 257 7749

Please reach out if you have any further questions either on here, or through the contact information above or even through our ambassador platform where you can chat to our Student Ambassadors like myself
