Getting a reference from tesco

My new employers reached out to tesco for a reference it's been 3 weeks and nothing. Tesco are the only place that haven't responded yet and my job offer is now on the line cause of it. I called the store I used to work at and they said head office deals with references so they can't help.

Is there a number for the head office that I can call or anything?

Maybe try emailing, does seem odd your old manager can’t provide a basic reference (assuming you didn’t leave under any nefarious circumstances). I can’t imagine head office would do anything more than confirm you were an employee anyway.

If you need to contact the HR department of Tesco, you can do so by calling the number above. When you call this number, you will be able to speak to the HR department at the Tesco head office in Welwyn Garden City, and they will assist you with your query. To speak to the HR department, press 3 when you hear “if you are a current or former colleague”.
Normally your own manager can give you a reference as it them who actually know what you are like as a worker not head office.

Tesco team leader and stand in supervisor as required ( been with Tesco for about 18 years both full-time and currently part-time due to my other main full-time employment).
Hopefully you'll be able to get a reference.
That's the problem when the manager leaves nobody else can assist you 😭.

They have emailed [email protected] but haven't received a response. I've already sent the consent form too but nothing. The number you provided is for tesco mobile and there's no option to press 3 but thanks for helping! If I could go down to the head office myself I would🤣
