Does the tuition for an access course teach you from very basic knowledge

I’m looking into a science access course, preferably online as I can’t find any evening classes local to my area, and due to work, I can’t attend physically. I have a keen interest in chemistry and science in general and would say I have a fairly decent level of intelligence. I found myself learning about chemistry and reading about it in general the past years so know some basics however,
Is a higher education course based for someone with small knowledge of the subjects ? I have brought gcse and A level books to help with the course just looking into how to prepare and if I need prior knowledge. Will I be taught as if I know nothing ? As this is what I would prefer .
Any advice appreciated thanks

Hi.

A Foundation Year will introduce you (gently) to studying at uni. It looks like you are already getting ahead! Foundation Years are designed for a range of students, those without level 3 qualifications (A levels &c.) to mature students returning to education.

You will learn the skills required for your chosen course and gain the confidence to start your degree of choice. You can find out more via our web page linked below. Most universities will have similar pages for you to explore.

Good luck with your studies!

It depends what you are trying to achieve here? Are you trying to get into university on a specific course? I ask this because I have completed the Learndirect access to higher education course in vet science and with this course I am able to progress to Vet Med 100 at university of Surrey.
