Managing your stress levels at uni

Let's not sugar coat it. Moving to Uni is a huge step, and whilst it will undoubtedly bring tons of positive opportunities, those positives can easily be coloured with negatives if you don't manage to take care of your stress levels and mental health.

Anyone have any tips for future and current uni students to help keep on top of your stress and mental wellbeing?

Mine would be:

Eat well - if your body is happy, your mind has the best chance of being happy too.

Don't put too much pressure on yourselves - just because you're at uni doesn't mean you're expected to understand everything and be totally comfortable navigating your studies alone. Use your lecturers, be vocal if you need help and give yourself plenty of time to get used to your subject.

Do something other than study - perhaps a society, perhaps a sport, or maybe part-tie work. I used to absolutely love working as a student ambassador at uni - the hours were casual so i could sign upto a few hours a week to fit my lectures, the work was well paid and a lot of fun. Also allowed me to meet some great new people.
