biology, chemistry and physics a levels

currently trying to get into dentistry, but not too sure what I should put as my 5th option?
5th option?

I can understand you taking 4 A levels with a view to drop one if it gets too much, as that’s quite normal, but considering a 5th subject would be rather mad.

Honestly, the three sciences alone should be a decent combo for dentistry. I generally advise against taking 4 A levels unless maths and FM happen to be two of the four A levels taken as the overall workload is generally more manageable that way. If you were to take 4 subjects for dentistry, I would recommend swapping out physics for maths and taking FM as the fourth.

maybe something like biology or biochemistry(assuming you mean for the fifth uni course)?

Maths. Physics will be easier if you have the maths for one. It also opens up options if you decide against the teeth-pulling game 😉.

I think by 5th option they mean uni choice, not a level

That makes sense. The original post and thread title were a little ambiguous and I thought they were asking what sort of A level combo they needed lol

Don't pick Dental Therapy/Hygiene! Most Unis wont consider you if you have applied for Dentistry as its an entirely different course and not a consolation prize for not getting Dentistry.

Look at
Pharmacy or Pharmacology - Choosing between Pharmacy and Pharmacology (bath.ac.uk)
Biochem, Cancer Biology, Microbiology, Immunology, Biomed etc - scroll down for courses - Undergraduate | School of Cellular and Molecular Medicine | University of Bristol
Nutrition and Dietetics - Nutrition and Dietetics MNutr | University of Nottingham
Natural Sciences (inter-disciplinary science) - Natural Sciences MSci | Undergraduate study | Loughborough University (lboro.ac.uk)
Etc.

I'd start by not focusing on it - you can apply to your 4 dental school options by the October deadline, then add the 5th option any time before the January deadline  This gives you plenty of time to see what interviews you get and think about your options!

Equally if dentistry is your principal goal, it's perfectly reasonable to just use 4 options for dental schools and leave the 5th blank, and plan to reapply in a gap year!
