Hey, I’m going to the University of Chester in September, and I’m an international student, so I don’t know anyone there. I was hoping to meet some people beforehand and make some friends. Is anyone else going to the University of Chester?
Best shot at making mates is going on nights out and attending social events during freshers week which i think starts from the 16th? Other than that, there should be some kind of whatsapp thing for people to introduce people

Hi Congratulations on your place!
When I wanted to meet up with people before I started, I did find social media groups helpful. There are usually a lot of these on Facebook.
There's also an app called Umii, you may start to receive emails about it from the University of Chester but it helps match you with friends with common interests or common courses.
Do remember though that once you get there everyone is in the same boat and wants to make friends too so you'll have lots of opportunities in welcome week to make new friends! The Student Union also hold a lot of events during welcome week so you can always meet new people.
