Results day - Oxford Brookes University

Hi Everyone

Results day for AS Levels, A Levels, and T Levels is just around the corner on Thursday, August 15th. We know this can be an exciting yet nerve-wracking time, so we wanted to share some helpful information about what to expect on the day.

Hopefully, this will ease any worries and help you feel more prepared for the big day!

How does results day work?

On results day, exam boards release your Level 3 qualification grades and send them directly to your school or college and to UCAS. UCAS then shares these results with your firm and insurance choice universities or colleges.

The universities and colleges will check your grades to see if you’ve met the conditions of your offer. They’ll then make a decision and update UCAS with the outcome.

The UCAS system will be available from 8am on results day. However, with so many students checking their results at the same time, it might take a few hours for your application status to update. So hang tight, and you'll have the information you need soon!

Where should I go to collect my results?

On results day, you’ll receive your A-level grades directly from your school or college, not through your UCAS application. Be sure to check with your school or college about their specific opening hours.

If you’re unable to pick up your results in person, arrange for someone else to collect them for you or request that they be sent to you. You can also log in to your UCAS account to see how your chosen universities have responded.

Don’t forget to bring your family and friends along for moral support. Remember, you’ve done your best, and there are always other options if things don’t go as expected.

What Happens Next?

If you’ve been accepted into your firm choice, fantastic! Everything’s sorted, and you can relax.

If you didn’t meet the requirements for your firm choice but have been accepted into your insurance choice, that’s also great news—your place is secure!

If neither your firm nor insurance choices worked out, don’t worry—there’s still a chance! You can explore other options through Clearing.

If you applied to Oxford Brookes and hold a firm or insurance offer but didn’t quite meet the conditions, just give us a call from 8am on results day. Our friendly advisors will be on hand to guide you through the next steps, so you’ll be in good hands. Universities want to fill their spaces and are there to support you!

Thinking About Making a Change?

If you’re considering a small change, like switching from Accounting & Economics to Accounting & Finance, don’t worry—it’s easier than you might think. Just reach out to your university, and they’ll be more than happy to assist you. No need to go through Clearing for this!

If you’re thinking about deferring your place for a year and don’t already have a deferred offer, you can still ask your university about it. While you can request a deferral up until the start date, it’s always a good idea to let them know as soon as possible. Make sure to have your reasons for deferring ready to share!

Changed Your Mind About Your University Place? Here’s What to Do:

If you’ve decided to decline your firm choice, keep in mind that you won’t be able to choose your insurance option. Instead, you’ll enter Clearing, where you can explore other possibilities and find what’s best for you.

We’d love to hear how you’re feeling about results day. Share your thoughts with us below!

Best wishes,
Clare
