getting closer to results day: predict grade boundaries! 2024 gcses

ik we dont know anything about the boundaries and they can pretty much be anything, but this post is mostly for fun but also making logical predictions for max and min for the grade boundaries this year. please reply with your ideas too of other subjects u do etc.
the only known fact is that the % of grades will be broadly similar to 2023 so grade boundaries will be close to last year, with around a leeway of 5 marks either side depending on difficulty, so it is highly unlikely there will be large differences in grades this year.
bio higher aqa triple: around 135, (min 128 - max 138, 2023: 132) think it was moderately okay, perhaps slightly harder than last year i think
physics higher aqa triple: around 150-152 (min 143 - max 152 2023: 147) for me, i struggled a bit, and paper 1 for most people was hard, but p2 may balance this out. defo was harder than last year tho thats for sure
chem higher triple aqa: around 150-153 (min 145 - max 155 2023: 149) again moderate difficulty, but some people struggled w p2
maths edexcel higher around 200-201 (min 196 - max 205 2023: 203) defo harder, so i expect lowered
further maths: around 135-139 (min 134 - max 140 2023: 137) p1 was hard, p2 was moderate, idt it will increase

I wouldn't recommend predicting grade boundaries because you can't predict them and if you get the numbers way out that could potentially be quite upsetting.

is there a general rule to the boundaries tho?

There are patterns but it is a pointless activity none the less, it won't change anything and I doubt it will make anyone feel any better

yeah fair enough. i just wanted to know whats the leeway in general bc all ik theyll be similar to 2023

Where has it been said that the grade distributions will match 2023? 2019 is what they are working to.

They do not want to match 2019 boundaries, they want to match 2019 grade percentages. Even though 2019 appeared to have lower grade boundaries, it would still be ‘easier’ to get a grade 9 if you took the test in 2023 as there was a higher percentage of top grades. They want to reduce this and bring this to 2019 which will mean increasing grade boundaries

That's exactly what I said 'grade distributions' .... read posts carefully before commenting please.

This post was about grade boundaries and you did not explicitly mention you meant percentages of grades issues so there was no way I could have known lol

Grade distribution implies that - you should be aware of this terminology as this is what Ofqual uses.

Guys what do I do if i don't get into my sixth-form I have only applied to one 😭 do you think if I miss a grade in English language they'll still let me in as it's my first and only choice 😅 If not then I'll have to apply for college probably some plumbing course

9 in maths edexcel could be between 192-202
8 could be 163-171
7 could be 138-143

or it could be none of this and increase/decrease by one mark lol
