Academic Fairness Issues at Kingston

I'm a 2023/2024 postgrad in User Experience Design. We have faced issues due to the program over-admitting students. Our cohort has approximately 200 students

The issue is that due to the volume, our deadlines are much earlier than other programs so that lecturers get time to mark them all and it's hard to get proper feedback beyond 2-3 sentences. It's unfair that other programs in the same department get 2-3 more weeks for their assignments.

I asked the Student Union for help who advised they are not able to (to be honest I'm not exactly sure what they do or role they play if that can't help with an issue)

I thought I would share this issue we are facing in case anyone is considering this program at Kingston Uni

Sorry to hear about your experience. The UX Design is a very popular course which means it recruits very well year on year. I confirmed with the academics that marking is done across the larger team so the process isn't slowed down.
The UX Design course in particular also provides routine 1:1 or small group frequent sessions and the academics are extensively involved with providing feedback and advice to students - more than any other course in the school.

Hope this helps
