Every Londoner knows that Highgate is in London

True or False?

I’ve read maps of London and I’ve seen Highgate on a fair number of them
I'm not from London but I've been to Highgate a few times, can't see how Highgate could not be in London. Why do you ask?
"High-gut" if you've ever been on the Northern Line.

I thought so. I was talking to this Cockney woman the other day, asking her if she was born in Highgate in London, but she said “No I was born in London” and I said to her “I know you were born in London, that’s why I’m asking you if you were born in Highgate in London.” That is why I ask.

It’s True. Because I have looked it up and according to Google, Highgate is in the London borough of Haringey. If that’s the case (and it is), they should have called that borough the ‘London Borough of Highgate’ then nobody would be ignorant of Highgate.

Highgate is split across three boroughs - Haringey, Islington and Camden - and certain parts arguably in Barnet.

If you knew she was a Cockney, then you must have known she couldn't have been born in Highgate. A Cockney has to be born in the East End, either in Bow or some parts of Mile End.

You know what, I never thought of that. But I will next time. Thanks.

So it is. I don’t think I thought of that either. Thanks again.
Also, you know one of the replies I sent SaucissonSecCy about the ‘Cockney’ woman, I meant she was a London woman, not necessarily a Cockney.
