Those are competitive grades for level 2 qualifications, so they will help your application to study dentistry in the UK :yep:
Universities in the UK also require level 3 qualifications (like A level Biology, A Level Chemistry) in order to study here.

If you can tell me a bit more about where you are studying I might be able to help?
I study in a British international school in Malaysia called Alice Smith. I have yet to make a firm decision for my alvls but i intend on doing Bio, Chem, Maths and epq for my alvls.

However, I have an issue that is quite concerning. I have heard that in order to get into medicine/dentistry is surrounded by a very competitive atmosphere in which international students are only accepted on high grades e.g. all 9s and A*s in alvls and a UCAT score. Is this true?

It is very competitive, because these are courses where you train to be responsible for the lives and health of other people - they can't just admit anyone. They also send you on placements in professional environments, there are only so many spaces to do that so numbers are limited.

However, it is not true that you must have all 9s, that's a big exaggeration. You need very good A Levels (doesn't need to be all A*s) and a high UCAT score, plus a little bit of luck.

Does this help a little?

Yes and home students equally. Unis will typically have a certain percentage of the course they'd prefer to be international intake and a certain percentage they'd want to be from domestic applicants.
