Nope not by any uni but dont you need ID to enroll? I just want to make sure I've got everything covered im very nervous.

Yup got that all sorted through student finance all I had to do is give my share code.

Yes, can't see why you'd need one that quickly but you do need to get it renewed so you avoid this sort of panic in the future.
In the pretty unlikely event that there's an in-person ID check, they may accept an expired passport or your provisional licence.
The provisional should be fine for any going out you want to do in freshers' week etc – nobody who has the option not to would choose to take their passport anyway.
Renewing the passport is more that it's good to make sure it's in date, especially if you want to do any travel.
