This is a good question. First of all, Congratulations on your university place!
Where will you be studying and what degree are you taking?
I am about to go into my final year at university myself and loving it, but the first year only feels like it was last week too. Unfortunately, your first student finance payment can’t be paid early, this is because you must have enrolled in your course, which doesn’t happen until you start the course, see here:
https://www.gov.uk/guidance/getting-your-first-student-finance-payment Although it depends on individual circumstances, student finance may be able to pay future student loan payments early. It is best to contact them directly to discuss this:
https://www.gov.uk/contact-student-finance-england If you are concerned about paying e.g., for student halls then many accommodation companies will allow you to delay your first lump sum payment until your student loan arrives. But I would advise checking with your accommodation provider directly.
If you are worried about your finances and paying your bills, I would advise contacting your university for support to check you receive everything you’re entitled to and whether they can offer any extra financial support. For example, my university has a support fund for students facing economic hardship.
I hope that helps, feel free to contact me with any questions.
Lucy 😊
