What a-levels for psychology?

Hi, I would like to do psychology at university, and I am going into year 12 in September. My a-levels will be history, psychology and either biology or sociology. Which one should I pick for a psychology degree?

For psychology degrees, usually a science or science related subject (which psychology would be classed as) is required. The requirements will obviously vary from university to university, but taking biology alongside psychology would open up your options, as some top universities, such as Cambridge and UCL require a core science or multiple science subjects. Taking biology would also open up your options generally within the STEM field, so if you wanted to study psychology and neuroscience for example, you could. Ultimately, you should pick the subject you enjoy most and think you would do best in. In most cases, just psychology will be enough.

Biology is better as if yoi change your mind from psychology then you have more options open but it is a lot harder id say. Sociology is pretty easy if your good essay writer which it looks like you are if your picking history. Personally id say do sociology if your 100% on psychology and dont ever plan on changing your mind. Also have you looked into job prospects with psychology because its so competitive you pretty much wont become a clinical psychologist now. Theres other types of pychologists but criminal as well difficult to get into. Before 100% deciding on a degree id look at job prospects because the job at the end will be what yours doing for the next 50 years of your life
I would suggest to pick biology for the plain reason of opening up more options in the future at uni. However subjects don’t 100% matter (depending on the uni and perhaps the course etc), it’s more about the grades.
I did psychology and sociology together at A-Level and it was really handy. Both are interesting subjects related to the study of people (psychology is individually based and sociology society based), and they link together quite a lot based on their contents which can make it easier for revision and gaining knowledge.
So if your set on doing just a psychology course at uni, sociology may be the way to go  Hope this helps!
