Great idea! @Liverpool Hope University

I got my results in 2020 and took a gap year before starting university. To any students feeling worried about their results, remember that there are always options and nothing is set in stone. Try to have a backup plan in case things don't go the way you hoped, for example to apply through clearing, take a gap year, or retake some exams if this is an option. In the meantime, try to distract yourself from worrying by taking a walk or doing something you enjoy. Or even talk to some friends about how they are feeling, as I can guarantee others will be feeling worried!

Good luck everyone!

Hi Estelle,
I think this is an amazing idea to get useful advice out there for students awaiting their results!

I remember being in the same position last year, eagerly (and anxiously) waiting for my results. I know it feels like the longest week ever, but trust me guys, you'll get through it!

From my experience, I think the best thing to do right now is to stay busy! Maybe watch a new movie, go meet your friends, spend time with your family or pursue a hobby. Keeping yourself busy will help divert your mind and keep the stress under control.

Talking about your feelings with friends and family can be very helpful. Personally, chatting to my friends helped me realise that I was not the only one feeling that way and it made me feel supported.

Also, before the results are out, make sure to have a good breakfast and mentally prepare yourself. It's also a good idea to prepare a backup plan in advance, as this will give you some peace of mind.

Just remember that your results don't define you! There are so many amazing options and opportunities out there, and you will find your way!

I hope this helps!

All the best,

Hi

This is a brilliant idea!

I collected my results last year, and they weren't what I was expecting. But by the end of the day, I had a place at a university studying the course that I wanted to in a lovely place as well.

Please try not to worry too much as everything will work out just fine there are lots of different options at your disposal.

I hope this helps,

Good luck!

Hey Estelle! Great thread 🤗

I hope everyone's feeling proud of themselves today, no matter your result, you've put in so much hard work and effort. Remember, grades do not define your worth. There's always other options to take. Please do lean on family and friends today for emotional support and advice, or plan something fun to look forward to!

Hi @Liverpool Hope University

This is an excellent idea!

My main piece of advice would be to be proud of what you have achieved. Doing A levels, BTEC's and more are not easy, so be happy with what you have done. If the results were not what you expected, remember there are always other paths to follow, other routes to your goal and other careers you may be pulled towards instead. There are always bumps in the road and barriers to cross, so don't let your results define what your capable of.

Personally I didn't get the results I expected, but things have a way of working out.

I hope this helped, good luck everyone,
-Sophia (Business and Management)
