I went through the A2 specs for my subjects and made notes of exam dates, as well as what I'm actually being tested on in each exam. The spec from AS to A2 is a bit different as A2 introduces more content so it was good for me to be able to see where the A2 content fits into what I already know from AS.
•
I also wanted to clarify my revision techniques for the upcoming year. In yr12, I NEVER did essay plans (which is shocking as I did 4 essay subjects) and I managed to get by (minus the C in AS History 💔) but I want to make my revision seamless for this year, which means creating a system and getting some essay plans done! I also NEVER did practice essays in timed conditions apart from school mocks, which is pretty shameful and something I feel like I won't be able to get away with this year
•
I decided to focus my revision on a system of : making summary notes -> making flashcards with key info on remnote -> essay plans on notion -> transferring the essay plans to anki for spaced repetition. I decided to put them on anki as the final step as I want to revisit my plans from time to time and blurt them on a piece of paper before checking the answer to see how much I remember.
•
I relied HEAVILY on flashcards in yr12, so I want to move away from them, only using them for key bits of knowledge I need to know like quotes, dates, laws, key events, etc.
•
I finally updated my politics notes with some 2024 election info! I tried to follow the spec format and want to start learning it so I will know the key bits from the election inside out, saving me lots of revision time, because I know I will definitely be referencing it in alevel politics this year!

Went for a nice walk today and treated myself to some yummy food today as well

French - completed some subjunctive practice today and started researching my IRP. I'm stuck between either doing it on the role of women/ famous women through French history or the Haute Couture and French fashion so I'm planning on doing some more research to narrow it down.
•
For politics (again!!) I returned to face the beast that is global politics and I conquered it!! It took HOURS but I can now say that I have a good grasp of the course so far and am starting to consolidate that learning into essay plans. I worked through realist and liberal beliefs and theories, as well as globalisation. I feel like I'm starting to enjoy it a little bit which is CRAZY because it was my worst enemy for soo long, but I guess the better I understand a topic, the more I like it 😎

didn't bother much with work today since I started my period ;-; and just wanted to chill out a bit
•
i did go through some politics flashcards (as usual) and did some french subjunctive practice
•
I got a bit bored later on and decided to do a practice MLAT paper just for fun and I found the grammar fairly easy to grasp which means my revision so far has been paying off! It's genuinely so rewarding when I remember how to do the question because of something I learnt this summer.
•
The translation into English was mostly alright, but I found myself getting stuck on little bits in the questions towards the end like translating all the little 'lui' and 'le' bits that they love to throw into sentences. I'm also finding that there's not as much emphasis on being super literal in your translation. You can opt for what feels most natural as long as it's reasonable, unlike in the alevel course where you do have to get creative to make the sentences make sense but it's still a lot stricter regarding certain aspects that you *need* and organising the sentences in a very particular way.
•
So far I'd say that I'm enjoying revising for the MLAT. I guess I'll take this as a sign that I should be doing French at Uni
