Sixth form/College bag

I’m going into Year 12 in September and I’m not sure what bag to get. I don’t think i want a tote bag or ‘handbag’, I’m more looking for a backpack but i don’t know which one/brand. North face seems to fit a lot but what other backpacks are good.

I used to use an Adidas bag but now I have Underarmour. Big thing to look for though is the shoulder padding because carrying around heavy folders all day will hurt otherwise.
First of all, good on you for not going for a handbag. I think people look ridiculous and uncomfortable trying to lug around a handbag full of textbooks on one arm. The north face is a common brand at my school and people seem to like them a lot, my one served me very well and I've been happy with it. That said, there are dozens of brands that will suit your needs, so here are some things to look for:

Laptop compartment that is raised or padded. This is so that your laptop doesn't hit the ground every time you put your bag down.

Large enough to fit in any textbooks or folders you'll be carrying.

Comfortable to carry on your way to school etc so some kind of shoulder pads or something like that.

Compartments with zips are useful for keeping keys/wallet/personal items safe.

A nice recognisable colour/design will help you easily locate your bag if you leave it in a communal area (or in a heap of other bags). If the bag is just plain black you can add a recognisable ribbon or keychain to avoid this problem, but some people like having a bag with a bit of personality anyway.

Thank you. I probably will go for north face since they have these key points but thanks for letting me know what’s important to look for
