Yh, they are

Oxford doesn't officially have GCSE grade requirements, only stating that they want 5s and above at GCSE, but a lot students applying to Oxford will have like 8s and 9s anyway as it is a top school.
Higher GCSE grades would make more of a competitive university application but your grades are more than good enough )

They don't have grade requirements but they do score GCSEs, and it is a significant part of the application process - they're one of the most GCSE heavy medical schools (barring the period during the pandemic when they stopped scoring them for various reasons).

As above Oxford do score GCSEs and pre-pandemic I think the average number of A*s (8/9 grades) for successful applicants was around more than 10 A*s (8/9 grades) - they also score based on your proportion of A*s relative to non-A* grades. In this case I think you're probably below the average significantly and it would likely not be worth applying as you'd have much better chances at other medical schools.

Applying to medicine is about applying tactically, and where you go to medical school does not directly influence your future medical career as the GMC considers all medical degrees equal and the NHS (which is the only provider of graduate medical training posts) blinds recruiters from your medical school to ensure there is no bias.

So just prioritise medical schools where you will have the strongest profile for!
