Best laptop for pharmacy at uni?

Hii I'll hopefully be going to Notts for mpharm and was wondering what the best laptop would be! It would be useful if it's a touchscreen for note taking but apart from that I just wanted to know what ppl use or recommend ☺️

Hi @jsjse
We hope you do join us at Notts!
I had a touchscreen laptop at the start of the course and my hinges broke, so I would suggest just getting a normal laptop, to avoid the problems that come with a foldable one. The lectures can be downloaded before hand and most people either put the lecture slides into one note and write the notes alongside or just type up their notes on word during the lecture. I got an IPad at the start of 3rd year after my hinges broke on my laptop and it was such a good decision! It can do everything a laptop can do, and if you like typing instead of writing you can always get the keyboard attachment!

Hope this helps, if you have anymore questions feel free to ask!

Thank youu!! ☺️ Do u think an iPad / tablet with a keyboard alone would be okay for studies then or would it be better to just bring a normal laptop? I'm just scared I'll have to draw a bunch of mechanisms or diagrams but I don't wanna get both cuz it's expensive 😭

Personally I think an iPad with a keyboard will be enough for taking notes which is the majority of what you need a device for, and with an iPad (if you have an Apple Pencil) you could draw the mechanism you’d need. On my course (which is the old version) we had some chemical application we had to use, which you can’t get on an iPad but there are plenty of computers on campus in the libraries that you can use ( which I prefer cause they’ve got mouses )

If you have any more questions please ask!
