Hi there 👋,

First of all well done on getting a place at Wrexham University! What course are you planning on studying?

Wrexham Student Village is right across the road (next to the football grounds of the Wrexham Football Team owned by Ryan Reynolds!) As a student who lived there this academic year, the student accommodation was incredibly convenient in so many different ways.

The village offers 3 different types of student accommodation:

1.

Single room - this provides a comfortable living space, bedroom with a single bed, desk, wall cabinets and ensuite bathroom.

2.

Single plus room - this provides the same as a single room but a 4ft bed, and a slightly bigger bedroom.

3.

Double room - again, provides the same a single room but the largest bedrooms that Wrexham Student Village has to offer, plus a double bed.

One of the perks of living in the Wrexham Student Village halls, is that no matter what option of student living you pick, they all include an ensuite plus a large wardrobe space, and a desk for studying.

In terms of flatmates and friends:

The halls have a tight-knit community feel to them, everyone seems to know everyone within the first few weeks of the new academic year. This is lovely as it makes you feel comfortable within your new living space. It's incredibly exciting to move out of your family home, and into halls, but it can be scary to. So having a lovely group of flatmates makes the world of a difference! I met some absolutely lovely people during my stay at WSV.

The accommodation team, are on-site from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday's. Someone is often in the office and happy to answer any queries you may have. They are all incredibly friendly and supportive.

There is also the 24/7 security on-site who are happy to support you if you feel that is necessary. (They are also first aid trained.) This allows peace of mind and a step into the big, real wide world!

The train station neighbours WSV, as well as the basic necessities like food shops, pubs and clubs! With the town centre is a 10-minute walk away.

In terms of nightlife:

The university's Student Union hold events such as Glyn's Bingo night, Society evening and Fresher's Week entertainment.

Plus, as the WSV is only a 10-minute walk away from the local Wetherspoons, Chequers and other bars and clubs in Wrexham. Some students also venture out and take the train to Liverpool, Manchester or Chester for nights out, due to the train station being conveniently placed nearby and the tickets in the evening being cheaper.

In the day time, there are some nice cafes, restaurants and day-drinking bars for brunches. And if you have a car, the local beach is 1 hour away, or venture to Flintshire and see the Flint Castle.

There are some exciting things to offer at Wrexham and nearby places. As time goes on and you become settled here, you explore more and find some wonderful hidden gems!

Hope this helps, good luck on your results!
