Project pass criteria

Hi,

I am post-grad student currently working on my project and dissertation. I want to know on what basis university or supervisor fail students. During meet if supervisor ask certain questions and if one is unable to answer then can it impact your final score or can professor fail that particular student.

Hello! Typically, a university or supervisor will only fail a student if they do not achieve the minimum pass mark, which can differ from one institution to another. It's best to verify this with your specific university. Regarding whether a supervisor can fail you based on how you answer certain questions, it largely depends on the breakdown of your grade. However, in a standard one-on-one supervisory meeting, it's uncommon for this to impact your grade. Even if it does factor in, it's very unlikely to be the sole cause of failure.
