Clearing guaranteed?

I don't think I did well in my a levels and would possibly have to go through clearing. If a university has a course up for clearing and I apply for the course through clearing, am I guaranteed to get that space? Even if I don't meet the entry requirement of the course I'm clearing for. Or does it depend on how close I am to the entry requirement of that course?

You should only add a clearing choice if a university has asked you to do this.
That means you need to make a clearing enquiry using the phone/email/web form. They’ll look at your grades and either make an informal offer (ideally by email so you have it written down).
If you read the clearing FAQ it explains in more detail how clearing works.
Just because a course has vacancies doesn’t mean that you don’t need to meet entry requirements - but the entry requirements may be different to earlier in the year.
As above - always phone the Uni and they will tell you if they would accept your grades or not.
If its a No, move on and phone another Uni.

By entry requirements being different, do you mean lower? And where would the requirements change. Also is there a way I can see a universities available courses in clearing at the moment ?

Unis wont know exactly what Clearing vacancies thy have until late tomorrow at the earliest.
Check on Uni websites Weds pm after about 6pm,or first thing Thursday morning.

Some Unis/some courses may be asking for lower grades for Clearing vacancies - but you cannot assume that, or that they would accept you even further below.

Have a look at the University Clearing Websites thread at the top of applications, clearing and ucas
Lots of universities have already released their courses that are in clearing, others will release details on UCAS and on their websites tomorrow or on Thursday.

Some universities will include clearing specific entry requirements on their websites, others won’t in which case it’s a general rule of thumb that it’s worth contacting them if you’re within 2 grades of their normal entry requirements.
